Testimonial
"In my capacity as Chief of Police in Brockville for 11 years, I had the opportunity to work closely with Mayor Ben TeKamp starting with Ice Storm '98. He was also Vice Chair of the Police Services Board and was outgoing, sensitive, decisive and a very community oriented Mayor.
Mayor Ben demonstrated his commitment to Brockville and its residents, putting his heart and soul into attending and engaging in almost every community event. He was also passionate about community safety and supported our many proactive injury prevention programs, Brockville's World Health Designation as a Safe Community and he personally demanded and won concessions worth $1 M from CN and Transport Canada to upgrade Safety devices at our rail crossings. As a Police Services Board Member he also supported School Safety Guards at Rail crossings to protect children en route to school.
Although I now reside in Guelph near grandchildren and family, I return frequently to Brockville and this summer was involved with Ben is a number of community charity events. He still has much to offer Brockville as well as the knowledge, skills and experience to lead a new council. "
